I really should have been a bit more forthcoming in my Where is my Phix article. My intent wasn’t to present things in a negative light. Although I could see where the words could be taken that way. Long time readers will know I hate to make any type of contact with support services. Do to the fact that this can cause nothing but a headache for me. Keep in mind I could of as was suggested in a comment within the article sent off a polite email inquiring about my purchase status. So why didn’t I do this?
Dyson versus refrigerator? I bet you can figure out which one of these won the battle. Yes the refrigerator won the fight with the Dyson. This tug of war happened just the other day. The interesting thing about this is that TechCrunch around the same time had an article in regards to how James Dyson stress test Dyson products. What I can say from my experience is that he must have forgotten to test the cord on the Dyson DC17 Animal Absolute. Granted the cord held up fairly well considering. What happened is I was trying to wrap the cord from around a corner. Yes this was user error on my part. But what happened is the Dyson cord got stuck under our refrigerator. I ordered a 30 pack of Phix on June 25, 2008. When checking my order status online I see Pending Fulfillment. I’m not sure if that means the order hasn’t been filled and shipped. At this point I have no FedEx tracking number. So I would assume the order has yet to ship. My original email stated this “Our hardworking team is running around the warehouse right now putting everything in a box for you. We’ll drop you a note when it ships.” Since I’ve yet to receive an email update I think it would be safe to assume that nothing has been shipped yet.
One of the colored heatsink fans I bought earlier this year had been making a grinding noise for several days now. I was trying to put off replacing it with a non colored fan until I made a liquid cooling purchase. However things just got to the point today where I knew I would have to go ahead and replace the fan that was attached to my heatsink. This isn’t giving me much confidence in the other two Antec TriCool 120mm Trilight LED Fan’s that are still running in this machine. While I like the look I also need good cooling results and reliability. I’ve now put the old fan back into use. No color but it isn’t making any odd noises and it’s doing the job. You would have thought the Antec fan could last longer than five months.

When checking my email the other day I noticed that someone had left a comment on this site. I was intrigued when I saw the name used for the comment poster. Imagine my surprise when what I expected to be a positive comment turns into a nasty rant and accusations. I’ve waited a couple of days to make my own comment. To cool down a bit and to have at least one other person analyze the comment and give me their opinion. My original thought hasn’t changed. My opinion is this is a real quick way to make your business look bad. It’s also not a very positive way to handle public relations.

I’m not sure why I got an email message from a local person giving a helpful tip as to where to go to get our Dyson fixed. Unless this person knows something I don’t the Dyson is running just fine. I used it Tuesday evening multiple times in fact. Every once in awhile the release was sticking but that worked itself out. Might have been user error who knows. But our Dyson has never had a mechanical issue at any time since we purchased it. I thought I gave the product a very honest and stellar review actually.
