I’d like to apologize to all my loyal and long time readers for the recent down time. It’s been years since I’ve been down for any great length of time. This recent event was a total of almost 4 days. Downtime for me is not an option for any website. What should have been a simple upgrade basically turned into a nightmare. Aggravation, pure anger rage and massive stress pretty much sums up the past few days starting Saturday evening. I have several items still needing tweaked. I’m doing my best to get things back to normal as soon as possible.
Hopefully there won’t be any more major glitches or offline time for this website. I’ll get into further details of what has taken place at a later date.
Again I sincerely apologize for the down time. If anyone comes across something they think isn’t working properly or looks out of whack – feel free to leave a polite comment. I’ll be keeping an eye out for any strange behavior over the next few weeks.
One plus is that this website now supports https. Not that there is a real need for it. But the choice now exist for readers to use.
If you would like absolutely slow service in regards to setup and upgrades have a look at the hosting company below. If you want support from people that don’t seem to read your replies even though they were asked for – have a look at the hosting services offered below. Honestly I was really wanting to change hosting providers this year. But got suckered in by a “new” product being offered. Lets hope that service lives up to the hype. Won’t make up for the many shortcomings of GoDaddy. But might ease the aggravation, frustration and pain a little bit.
Looks like some of my older photo articles may have gotten messed up slightly. I’ll add that to the list of needing fixed. There are still several items I need to bring back online to the site over the next couple of days. Hopefully in doing so I won’t break anything and have more to fix.

Update 8/31/2011 12:00PM
Currently checking each post to make sure everything is running smoothly. I have run into a few photo articles that aren’t displaying properly. One video article is broken. Video load times on this site have always been pretty horrible – even though I’ve done my best to optimize the video content before uploading. Right now those load times seem much worse on the new server.
Just turned RSS feed back on. Guess I forgot to check that setting last night. I’m slowly going through a check list and hopefully won’t miss anything. Keep in mind there are 2,847 articles on this site starting in 2004. I’ve had at least 3 major moves or upgrades take place in that time. Unfortunately that means there are bound to be things not functioning as they should somewhere.
Over the years I’ve done my best to clean up and fix any problems I come across. The next few weeks will most likely be spent coming across minor issues and resolving them. I thank you for your patience and support of my website.
