Today UPS just dropped off a new 8 GB SD card to my home. Yes that is an 8GB SD card. I had only seen a 4 GB SD card as the max storage capacity in the past year. So when I saw the 8GB model at a very decent price I jumped on it. Unfortunately my Casio EXILIM EX-Z120 doesn’t have a firmware upgrade available for SDHC support. What this means is the higher capacity SD card isn’t supported for this model camera. I’m not sure if it is possible to use other firmware available for other models with the Casio EXILIM EX-Z120. I haven’t been able to find any information on the Casio support website that would suggest that the available firmware could be used with multiple Casio digital camera models. The only positive in regards to any of this. Is that I do have Casio EXILIM Hi-Zoom EX-Z1200 on the way. This camera does have SDHC support.
Update 5:54 PM
It would seem that my Sabrent 64 in 1 internal card reader is lacking SDHC support as well. Their support page doesn’t seem to offer anything that would resolve this shortcoming. So I’ll have to invest in a new card reader now as well.
