This is another video showing setup in the early afternoon for EVening of EVs event in Normal IL ( January 26th 2012 ). Video starts off with a silver Fisker Karma. You can see at least one person getting their picture taken with the vehicle. You will also get to see the car plugged in and charging. There are a few long shots of the room and the other four electric cars that were parked in it at that time. Many more electric vehicles were added throughout the day.
I’m thinking the Mayor of Normal Illinois is who steps into the shot early on in the recording. Later that evening he gave a quick speech to the crowd. I think Revenge of the Electric Car Executive Producer Stefano Durdic can also be seen later in the video. You get to see the photographer I mentioned in previous articles. I really tried my best to stay out of everyone’s way during the event setup. No one in the room gave me any hassles about being there – which was a nice change of pace from some events / gatherings. I greatly appreciated being able to have access before the doors officially opened to the general public.
Video also offers an up close look at these other electric cars in the following order Tesla Roadster, Chevy Volt, Nissan Leaf and a Mitsubishi i-MiEV.

2012 Volt Drives Family Off of Oil, Saves $30,000
A GE ( General Electric ) employee attending EVening of EVs who gets free use of a Chevy Volt didn’t have much praise for the car. Complained about heating and air conditioning severely draining electric range. He had other complaints but that seemed to be one of his biggest. Honestly I wanted to snap in a rage when he kept trashing the Volt. There are so many of us who would love for an employer to give us access to this vehicle – even if it was a stripped down version without the heated seats etc. Unfortunately there are a lot of haters out there. Aggravating that this one gets to drive the car many of us want. Guess he doesn’t value America depending on it’s own resources. Must be to clueless to realize this could be done without nasty oil if more haters would get a clue and realize many need to change their way of thinking. There is no way this country can advance with the majorities current mindset.

Sorry but that isn’t entirely correct. Three of the cars on display that evening are more than capable of driving across the country. One all electric on display there in fact did a big promotion around this. I’ll provide a few worthwhile resources in regards to that event below.
