We had to head over to Miles Nissan last night to fix a minor cosmetic blemish inside our new Sentra. This gave me the opportunity to get better pictures of their Leaf Demo stickers. My original photos didn’t turn out all that great. The sticker price is the same as the 2011 Nissan Leaf SL CW DEMO I viewed at an electric car event in Normal IL. I’d assume all the demo models have similar features and price point. Keep in mind pricing and options changes have been made for the 2012 model year. From what I’ve read more options changes may be coming for 2013.
Although this demo model was built in Japan with parts manufactured in that country. It should be kept in mind that starting in December 2012 – production will start at Nissan’s manufacturing facility in Smyrna, Tennessee.
“2012 Leaf starting price has increased to US$35,200 in the United States, however this includes the Quick Charge Port which was previously a $700 option and a new cold weather package”
“Minor upgrades for the 2012 model year Leaf included a quick charge port that is standard on the SL trim, and also the cold weather package is standard on all Leafs; but pricing for both trims of the 2012 model year Leaf was increased.”
“For eligible customers there is a electric vehicle federal tax credit for up to a US$7,500 established by the American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009.”
“Nissan plans to unveiled the upgraded 2013 model year version Nissan Leaf for the North American market in December 2012, once production of the electric car begins in the Smyrna plant.”
