Yes I'm aware my readership probably isn't large enough to entice a company or website to sponsor a trip for me to Seattle in October. But I will ask anyway. Advertising revenue so far this year isn't as good as last year. Even though this site has an even cleaner look. It may be simple but it is functional. So at this point I'm unable to fund my own trip back to Seattle next month most likely. It's frustrating when you see many other people in the online community jet setting and you can't. I'm definitely not at the point where I could make that my reality. Some of you are probably asking why I'm wanting to head back out to Seattle this year. I'd tend to say – why not. Although there is in fact a purpose. Steve Wozniak and Robert Scoble will be in town October 6, 2006 to promote Wozniak's new book “IWoz: From Computer Geek to Cult Icon: How I Invented the Personal Computer, Co-founded Apple and Had Fun Doing It.” I got to listen to Steve Wozniak for the first time at Gnomedex 4.0 in Lake Tahoe. I'd like the opportunity to hear him speak again. Scoble and myself had a small conversation at Gnomedex 6.0 in Seattle this year. One of these days I'll get around to writing about that. As silly as it may seem. Yes I would like to go to Seattle for a day or two just to attend a question and answer session at The University of Washington's Kane Hall. Even better would be to attend the Greater Seattle Chamber of Commerce event. I've always wanted to take the train out to Seattle. A cheap coach seat round trip runs about $302 before tax on Amtrak. I'd of course be staying at the Edgewater Hotel if I did make it out there. This hotel has more than earned my loyalty as a customer.
