After several visits to the Chicago area the past few years I finally ventured to Cloud Gate better known as The Bean inside Millennium Park. During the visit I came across a Save Roșia Montană rally. At the time I wasn’t aware of what the rally was about. In a large city you never know what a group might be protesting.
“2013 Romanian protests against the Roșia Montană Project are an ongoing series of protests in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca and dozens of other cities in Romania and abroad against the Roșia Montană mining project”
Unfortunately the American Gothic and Marilyn Monroe statues have left Chicago Illinois. Where they once stood is now just an empty plaza. I’m sure there are lesser known iconic historical statues all over the Chicago area. But I think most tourist give all the love to The Bean.
I’m still unsure why who I assume is the Mom ask her very young daughter if she “is going to dance naked”. Very odd conversation to be taking place. Old school Underoos also got a mention.
