Does this Nissan LEAF look familiar? It should to my readers – this car is one that I’ve recorded previously here in Springfield Illinois. The driver didn’t seem to cool with my enthusiasm for his choice of ride the day I took that video.
This time there was no chase involved. Actually what is shown is two separate days when we saw this LEAF charging at the Illinois Green Industry Association Voltec charging station. Below are photos my girlfriend took with her iPhone 3G. Above is video I took a week or so after.
The only other electric car I’ve seen charging at this location is a Black Mitsubishi i-MiEV. There is a Silver i-Miev whose owner works around the corner a bit from this charging station.
Of course this Illinois electric car license plate is a repeat = 226 EL. Here lately I haven’t seen any new EV’s – just recording repeats. Rumor has it a white i-Miev with a stripe may be roaming around Springfield – I’ve not seen it. A huge rumor – not confirmed – but great source – states that Springfield Illinois has two Tesla Model S owners. I’ll believe that when I see it with my own eyes. Until then I call BS on that claim. Yes Illinois Senate President John Cullerton owns a Model S that you might be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of in Springfield – depending on the time of year.
So far I have recorded Illinois electric car license plates 226 EL, 228 EL, 229 EL, 382 EL, 518 EL, 531 EL, 585 EL , 668 EL, 1216 EL and 236 EL.
