Yesteryears Ice Cream made using 1931 John Deere Model GP 2015 Illinois State Fair

From an environmental standpoint I’m not a fan of ice cream made from a gasoline powered tractor. Might be if John Deere tractor was running pure biodiesel or E-85. But I gave in – I was curious to taste “old fashioned” ice cream. Wasn’t in mood for chocolate – so ordered vanilla. These are the only 2 flavors offered. According to a local newspaper article – vanilla orders massively outweighed chocolate at Yesteryears Ice Cream during 2015 Illinois State Fair.

I’m sure very few people cared about what fuel made their ice cream. Either way Yesteryears Ice Cream offers a look at history and offers a bit of education while you eat.
