On July 2nd 2017 I got to ride in The Milwaukee Road Super Dome from Chicago Union Station to Milwaukee Intermodal. Private Railcars – The Milwaukee Road Super Dome and Hiawatha Cedar Rapids were on back of Amtrak’s Empire Builder #7.
First 2 minutes of video recorded before I boarded Super Dome. Rest of video is from Milwaukee Intermodal. Sunday July 2nd was last day of a 3 day travel event.
Being a private varnish passenger is normally a very expensive way to travel. Railfans jump at opportunities to experience these cars and riding rails in a way modern equipment can’t match.
