I've enjoyed working and socializing with Corey over the past few years. We first met at Gnomedex 3.0 in Des Moines, IA. We got together once again at Gnomedex 4.0 in Tahoe late last year. I finally made my way to the ZoneLabs offices for a day then as well. Corey just assured me in an email. That he still has my crappy pictures and will be sending them to me. Hey Corey it's been almost 6 months now!! This is my punishment for not buying a 4th memory card.
Both times at the Gnomedex conference. Corey went out of his way to show me and my girlfriend serious hospitality. Last year was no exception. More ZoneLabs staff were present for the 2004 conference. So I got to meet even more great people who are associated with the company. All of them were of course just as nice as Corey.
I don't have any juicy details as to the reason behind this departure. My sense is this is just a personal decision that has come about. I'd like to thank Corey for always trying to go the extra mile for me. Even when some might have considered me a pain in the backside.
I didn't get a chance to get a good picture of his juggling act last year. Hopefully we will be able to meet again this year. So I can get a decent juggling picture. Slightly bad inside joke of sorts.
I know TeamZ will miss Corey. But the program will go on. It was never fully a one man show so to speak. Marcus who has been a part of things since day one. Will now be running things. I was glad to hear he is finally feeling better.
Corey – don't be a stranger. I wish you the best of luck in whatever your next adventure may be. Your always welcome to come to Springfield and have a Guinness and a horseshoe on me. D'arcy's doesn't serve Italian water though. Just plain old tap.
You have to do Gnomedex 5.0 Corey!! It's in Vegas!! And how dare you leave before I get a polo or get to meet Gregor!!
