Several cities in Wyoming that we’ve visited over the years have these fiberglass horse statues. This one is located inside of the Wingate Hotel in Sheridan, Wyoming. You will find this hotel across the street from the rest area as you exit off of I-90. Trust me when I say there are several national hotel chains in Sheridan that will charge you good money to stay. While customer service in all of them is normally above average the quality of their rooms is substandard at best. It took us several years to finally head to the Wingate. The location isn’t right downtown but it is a quick drive there. You will find a tourist visitors bureau and the Sheridan County Museum close by. A little further down the road you’ll find the historic Sheridan Inn. Along with a locomotive engine across the street from the inn. As you are leaving the Wingate or heading back out of town. Be sure to venture to the Rock Stop for gas and to see the buffalo statue.
If we ever get back out to Sheridan. The Wingate will be where we stay the night. Out of all the hotels we have stayed at over the years in Sheridan. This is the only one that offered a quality room for the price. Customer service was also very good. You can pay the same rate with much of their competition in that area and get far less for your money.
