North Western Cabinet Company Burlington Iowa

North Western Cabinet Company Burlington Iowa

On my way out West on Amtrak last year I traveled through Burlington, Iowa. As the train came into station I started taking pictures. One of those photos was this old building with the name North Western Cabinet Company on it.

  1. Just found your site while Googling for North-Western Cabinet Co. I recently purchased a “quartered oak house desk” with drop-front, one drawer, a shelf at the bottom and a lock on the drop-front and the orininal key. It is in pristine condition made by that co. in 1926-27 and sold for $8.75. I paid less than $20 for it and it is probably worth much much more given its condition with no chips, cracks, dings or stains. Its provenance with copies of the original catalog pages was provided to me by the Burlington Public Library.
Just thought you might be interested.

Hi, I just came across your post. I don’t know if you will see this, since your post was from 5 yrs. ago.
I too, have a desk with a drop down front. The label on the back is from the Northwestern Cabinet Co. in Burlington, Iowa.
The wood finish is a very rich dark brown. Do you have a picture of yours and do you know where I can find info about desks made by this company. I only just began my search.
      thank you,

  2. I do not own any furniture from North Western Cabinet Company in Burlington Iowa. I just took a photo of building while passing by riding in an Amtrak train.

Trying to determine the age of my spinet desk, tag on bottom indicates the maker as Northwestern cabinet company in Burlington Iowa and was shipped to the H.H. Adams salt lake city then has a mark that reads 186M . Any info would be helpful. It’s a beautiful desk.

  4. As I’ve tried to point out in my previous comment. I can’t help anyone with anything related to furniture manufactured by this company. I only took a picture of the mural while riding Amtrak past location.

Unfortunately I can’t be of any help in providing information anyone might be seeking.
