On my way out West on Amtrak last year I traveled through Burlington, Iowa. As the train came into station I started taking pictures. One of those photos was this old building with the name North Western Cabinet Company on it.

Mr. Stiefel worked at Northwestern Cabinet Co. in Burlington for five years and 25 years as a railway mail clerk out of Chicago on the Burlington Route to Omaha.
Mrs. Harris was a 1929 graduate of Burlington High School. She first worked at Northwestern Cabinet Company then for Airway Vacuum Company.
Just found your site while Googling for North-Western Cabinet Co. I recently purchased a “quartered oak house desk” with drop-front, one drawer, a shelf at the bottom and a lock on the drop-front and the orininal key. It is in pristine condition made by that co. in 1926-27 and sold for $8.75. I paid less than $20 for it and it is probably worth much much more given its condition with no chips, cracks, dings or stains. Its provenance with copies of the original catalog pages was provided to me by the Burlington Public Library.
Just thought you might be interested.
